What we do
Walnut Creek Sister Cities International is committed to building global connections, fostering cultural understanding, and creating lasting friendships between Walnut Creek and our sister cities, Noceto, Italy, and Siófok, Hungary. Through a variety of impactful programs, we promote international collaboration and celebrate the diversity of our global community.
Our initiatives include:
Adult Programs – Offering engaging opportunities such as Hungarian cooking classes, wine tastings, and group travel to explore the rich cultures of our sister cities.
Cultural Events – From international art contests and music performances to youth choir visits, we host events that highlight the arts and promote cultural exchange.
Visitor Hosting – Welcoming delegations and guests from Noceto and Siófok, providing a unique chance to connect and build cross-cultural relationships.
Youth Programs – Encouraging the next generation of leaders through youth ambassador exchanges (YAE!!), teacher exchanges, and youth sports and arts programs, including youth soccer team visits and a children’s art exchange.
Through these programs, we work to strengthen international ties, enrich lives, and create opportunities for meaningful engagement between Walnut Creek and the world.Together, we are building a stronger, more interconnected global community.
WCSCI Initiatives
-
Adult Programs
Member-organized trips to our sister cities offer unique opportunities to immerse yourself in the culture, traditions, and lifestyle of our global partners. These journeys not only promote goodwill and understanding between communities but also deepen the bonds that make our sister city relationships truly special.
-
Cultural Events
Cultural events are organized and promoted to educate our members about the rich cultures of our sister cities. These events provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the traditions, arts, and history that make each of our global partnerships unique.
-
Visitor Hosting
Members may have the opportunity to host visitors from our sister cities, strengthening the relationships that have been cultivated over the years.

Youth Programs
The Youth Ambassador Exchange (YAE!!) is our marquee program, and we are incredibly proud of its success. However, opportunities for youth extend beyond this. As a member of WCSCI, youth can also participate in various programs offered through Sister Cities International. Additionally, WCSCI is excited to expand the role of our youth ambassadors within the organization by developing an Alumni program, which is currently in the works.
